Speed limits on Wurzbach are changed

It's official: the speed limit on the new segments of Wurzbach Parkway, spanning between Wetmore and Blanco, has been raised to 60 miles per hour.

Those who missed this morning's Periscope can watch as the first signs are put up between Wetmore and Jones-Maltsberger.

We've discussed at length already the reason for the original posting of a 45 MPH speed limit. Last week the Texas Transportation Commission discussed our findings from a speed study of the corridor and approved the speed limit changes implemented today.

The new speed limits are:

• Wetmore to Blanco Road - 60 MPH
• Blanco Road to Northwest Military Hwy - 60 MPH*
• Northwest Military Hwy to Lockhill Selma Road - 50 MPH*

*These speed limits were previously incorrectly posted on this blog; they've been adjusted per direction of the traffic signs technician who posted them. 

Speed limits on the remainder of Wurzbach remained unchanged.
