Heads-Up On Daytime & Nightly Closures On I-10 East Expansion Project

Construction is underway to widen I-10 East from four to six lanes between I-410 and Loop 1604. The following closures are scheduled from Saturday, October 13 until Saturday, October 20. All work is weather-permitting and subject to change.

Eastbound and Westbound I-10 mainlanes between I-410 and Loop 1604:

Alternating lane closures will be required in both directions as crews perform pavement resurfacing, striping, and placement of portable traffic barriers. One lane will remain open in each direction while work is being performed on the other lane. 

These alternating lane closures will be in effect as follows:

• Daytime closures from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, October 13 and Saturday, October 20.
• Nightly closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, October 14 until Friday, October 19.

Eastbound and Westbound I-10 Frontage Road lanes at Ackerman Road, Oct. 15 - 19:

• The inside left-turn-only frontage road lanes approaching the Ackerman Road intersection will be closed daily in both directions as crews drill shafts for the newly-widened bridge piers to begin expanding the Ackerman Road overpass. 
• These closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, October 15 until Friday, October 19.
