We are excited to open a second thru lane on
the southbound US-281 frontage road along with a third right turn lane to and
from the Sonterra Boulevard access ramp on the morning of Friday, June 19. The
existing single frontage road lane will remain open with the addition of the new
frontage road thru and right turn lanes. The right turn lanes will give drivers
an opportunity to turn then merge with southbound US-281 frontage road thru
traffic and let thru lanes continue uninterrupted by drivers entering or
exiting the frontage road. All new lanes will help to improve safety and reduce
congestion.
We will also be opening additional northbound
US-281 mainlanes from Loop 1604 to south of Evans Road during the following
weekend.
