Then, almost like some thought-out bad joke, the work bogged down last week. The cause: rain. Lots of it. The mud and the slop brought by all the wet weather made the simple tasks road-building crews were working at nearly impossible.
This week, though, work is back on. While some guys are busily cleaning the project work area, others are at UTSA Boulevard beginning excavation work and driving in "soil nails" - anchor pins buried deep into the dirt that will support the retaining wall that will keep the hill under the overpass bridge from eroding away.
