On Monday, January 11, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin construction on an improvement project to improve capacity and traffic flow on CR 8480 (Alamo Ranch Parkway) in far west Bexar County.
Project Improvements
The project plan includes the realignment Alamo Ranch
Parkway mainlanes, improvements to the frontage roads and construction of a new
overpass bridge connecting westbound Alamo Ranch Parkway and Westwood Loop.
The project is scheduled to be completed
in three phases.
- Phase I includes improvements to the westbound frontage roads and mainlanes, as well as the construction of the overpass bridge.
- Phase II will continue work on the westbound mainlanes.
- Phase III will include the construction of a westbound exit ramp to Lone Star Parkway and a turnaround island at Westwood Loop.
Construction closures for this project will be limited to overnight hours (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.). Daytime closures will be kept to a minimum.
Crews will begin construction on Monday, January 11. The project is estimated to be completed by May 2022.
The estimated cost of this project is $4.2 million and is funded with TxDOT and Bexar County sources.
