We're making great inroads on the SH 46 underpass, part of the work on our western-most construction project on the I-10 corridor going from Northwest San Antonio to the City of Boerne.
This project, spearheaded by our contractor Texas Sterling Company, goes from Cascade Cavern/Scenic Loop to SH 46.
As part of the aforementioned underpass work, Texas Sterling will have to temporarily (approximately 2-3 months) shift or displace traffic to one side, what we typically call a "traffic switch." This is scheduled be implemented overnight tonight (Tuesday October 22) and become effective tomorrow morning.
Texas Sterling will need to divert I-10 westbound traffic from the mainlanes to the temporary pavement in the median. As part of this work, the eastbound mainlanes will be reopened.
Roadway Reconfiguration Chronology
1.) Temporary closure of westbound mainlanes from Christus Parkway to Frederick Creek.
2.) Westbound traffic will be diverted to the temporary pavement in the median (westbound entrance ramp near Cascade Cavern remains open).
3.) Eastbound mainlanes reopened.

What to Expect
Drivers should expect slight traffic delays in the area. They should use caution and pay attention to traffic signs (including electronic message boards).
As always, this scheduled traffic switch is weather permitting and subject to schedule changes.
