Long-Term Lane Closure In Effect On US 281 Segment I Expansion Project

We continue making great progress on the ever-complex US 281 Segment I Expansion Project, which involves many moving targets within its limits of Loop 1604 to just north of Stone Oak Parkway.

Work on the new mainlanes in the center continues as traffic continues to flow on the new frontage roads.

In order to keep this large-scale project on schedule, our contractor has put in effect a long-term closure of the right northbound lane between Evans Road and Encino Commons (see graphic to the right) for concrete work.

Please note that the closure is just for the right northbound lane -- all other lanes will remain open except for when they're closed during scheduled temporary closures (most of these taking place overnight).

The right northbound lane closure is full time (day and night) and is expected to last approximately two to three weeks, possibly to be extended (we'll be sure to let you know if that's the case).

As always, please remember that all closures are weather permitting and implementation and timeline are subject to change.
